We do perform repairs. After the inspections are completed the inspector will discuss their findings and make recommendations for any repairs that should be done and inform you of any crane or device that we recommend be pulled from service. We then will provide a written or verbal estimate for the repairs, as they are billed separately from your inspection billing.
We travel and do inspections throughout the United States. We are based in Durham, NC.
The price of your inspection is based on a few things: the type of crane or lifting device, the load capacity of the crane or lifting device, the severity of use and the overall condition of the crane or lifting device and how many and the type of other devices that are attached to them. If you provide the manufacturer, model number and serial number we will provide you with an estimate as accurately as we can without viewing the devices. We generally will provide estimates for inspections of larger equipment and/or a number of devices needing inspection greater than 5 devices.
We inspect most types of cranes and heavy lifting devices used in manufacturing, cranes mounted on service vehicles, bucket trucks, scissor lifts, mobile cranes of all types, OH cranes, spreader beams, magnet lifts, dock cranes and ship or boat mounted cranes, boat lifts and others. We also inspect in-house made devices. You can email with any questions regarding your specific device and we will call or email you right away.
A sticker will be placed on or with your device upon passing inspection the day the inspection is completed. A digital copy of your report will be emailed when completed. Depending on the number of devices inspected, reports may be completed the same day or could take up to a week to complete and forward to you. A written field copy can be provided the day of inspection, if requested. Remember, all equipment passing inspection will get an inspection sticker the same day, before the inspector leaves the site.
Yes, we require an operator to be present during the inspection. The operator knows the device best and can inform the inspector of any issues that need to be addressed and for operational checks performed during the inspection.
